Imperfectly Natural ideas being tested...
Most of you have by now read my books and looked at the directory of stuff I endorse but what do you think? We're all different and we've all got out favourite natural products and remedies. Janey Inlight Organic Facial Oil from Julie Whitehouse Miriam in Turkey tries out Inlight skincare Thanks so much for the testers of Inlight skincare Spirit Organics I trawled the internet in search of all things Organic, I happened upon ‘imperfectlynatural.com’ – and sent Janey a message. Waving a white flag vehemently to attract attention for help! Well this was the single best thing I have done all year, why you ask….well….Janey very kindly said ‘try Spirit Organics in Broadway’, I called them and arranged to see their top stylist Tabitha. One gorgeous sunny day at the beginning of Autumn I set off, for me quite a jaunt but I was astonished to find this remarkably quaint and quiet village nestling in the heart of the Cotswolds. Time on my hands a coffee house was sort, I immediately began to unwind and settle into this village. Time passed by and off I trundled to the hairdressers, where I was immediately greeted with excellent customer service, not at all over bearing in short just the right measure. I felt so relaxed, so pampered, so wonderful, utopia had swallowed me up into this hair salon! Then, oh my goodness the time to wash of the colour, in the most extraordinary chair! A massage chair, well I am sorry but please do not disturb anyone who has this, it is so relaxing, we should all have one in our homes! A totally relaxing and divine experience. Thank you Janey for recommending, thank you Spirit Organics for a wonderful experience and thank you John Masters for utterly gorgeous shampoos and products. I was able to explore new avenues I could pursue to enrich my life, such as further study which seem more achievable now.The self-help techniques which were discussed helped me to see that the solutions to certain problems in my life were not as daunting as I originally thought. Mooncup
You might say, "well, what else could be the problem?" The problem was the constant irritation and discomfort I felt whilst using tampons and sanitary towels. It was frustrating as I needed to switch between them both; neither one was comfortable or adequate, neither one made me happy. I could never make up my mind as to which was the lesser of the two evils. As a very sensitive woman, in more ways than one, using tampons caused me great discomfort on insertion, use and removal. It was a nightmare. I would then switch to sanitary towels thinking they would be easier and less painful for me to use. But, even then, I would feel dirty as most didn't absorb at all well and I worried about the risk of leakages.
I have now been using the Mooncup for several months and the initial cost of the product has been repaid over and over again and not in the monetary sense. The Mooncup is a simple device which comes with its own instructional manual and easy-to-understand diagrams. I've never had to buy a sanitary towel or tampon since I've purchased the Mooncup. I have it for life now and will never consider returning to those awful plugs of material with applicators ever again. Carrie White © 2009 Janey writes about Mooncup HERE

Rude Health nuts & muesli, I was recently lucky enough to win an eco friendly jute shopping bag, containing 6 packs of porridge/muesli from Rude Health and 2 bamboo cereal bowls from Janey's monthly email. The bag is made by Jutexpo and is large and strong enough to hold quite a lot of shopping. The
handles are rope filled, instead of being flimsyand flat and the whole
bag is coated inside with a waterproof layer, in case of spillages.
Thank you so much, best wishes,
Manuka Honey
Similarly when no.2 son had a particularly nasty cough recently a teaspoon of Manuka honey in the morning and another in the evening had it cleared up in no time. I’ve never had much faith in cough medicines and I know there is a lot of doubt over their effectiveness, lets face it - they are not cheap either, so I would go for the honey every time.

Next came the wardrobe review and to be honest I was secretly hoping we would have run out of time before we got to this stage as my wardrobe is limited to say the least. When Jules asked me what I would wear out in the evenings, I realised that since giving birth to Rosie, I had been so tired and depressed, that the only appointment I had in the evening was with the sofa (a situation that we have now rectified). But the wardrobe review was fun and Jules gave me plenty of tips on what style of clothes I should be buying. She gave advice on which parts of my body I should be highlighting, how to wear accessories (I didn't have any accessories!) and we got rid of those clothes that Jules felt were really bad buys. However, we didn't get rid of too much stuff, because as Jules quite rightly pointed out, I wouldn't have anything left to wear!
To finally make my day, when I bumped into my friend's husband recently, he told her that he didn't recognise me at first because I looked different. When she asked him different in what way, thinking he might say, taller, fatter, thinner etc, he said YOUNGER!! Nina

Cleanser: Calendula, Massage oil: Orange flower oil, Toner: Orange flower, Moisturiser: Rose and almond, Exfoliant: Wild rose beauty balm, Mask: White tea, Treatments: Orange flower gel, Essential oil: Neroli My skin glowed, and I came away feeling very refreshed. In the past, I have had some bad facial experiences, reacting to fruit acids etc., but there was no ‘sting in the tail’ from this treatment. Rima recommended that I follow up with some facial lymphatic drainage treatments with another therapist at the clinic. I fully intend to book those appointments. Christine
Water. Without it there would be no life on this planet. But how much thought do we give it? If you’re like me probably very little. You turn on the tap and there it is - if it isn’t - we flap like mad. OK a lot of us have decided that maybe the processing the water undertakes is not really acceptable and we have turned to buying bottles - by the millions! Do we give the bottled water any more thought than we give the tap water? Probably not. I was the same until recently. For some time now I have been under medical instructions to drink a minimum of one and half to two litres of water each day. Now those of you who have been under similar instructions will appreciate, firstly what a bore drinking water is and secondly, how it is almost impossible to remember to pick up that glass umpteen dozen times, during the course of the day and drink the ‘bloody’ stuff. Well it all changed a couple of months back when ‘Dearly Beloved’ plonked a bottle on the table, I noticed the label was different, it read DEESIDE. I have been on Deeside ever since and am well pleased with the results. My joints, which have seen more than three score years and ten, are infinitely more flexible, my eating habits have improved and my general feeling of well-being has greatly increased and all thanks to natural mineral water from the humble lower spring at Pannanich Wells just down the road from Balmoral. Water. I give it a lot more thought these days - so should you - and Yes SHE does drink it. Robbie
As one of the winners of September's "Angel Meditation CD", I found that having attended a regular yoga class for a number of years, I am used to and enjoy meditation at the end of each session so I found this CD to be ideal for home use. Her voice is very gentle and soothing and as long as you can open your mind whilst not letting it wander, anybody would find this a very relaxing CD. The CD lasts for 42 minutes and is a mixture of gentle flowing music along with Jan’s gentle relaxation/visualisation techniques. I inflicted this CD on my husband for a second, if somewhat sceptic, opinion. Suffice to say he fell asleep halfway through and could not deny its relaxing properties. Barbara Arnold
The Sensitive Skincare Co ‘STARTING FROM SCRATCH’ One of the side-effects of the hormone treatment I’m currently taking is ‘itchy skin’. Now normally, after quite a number of various treatments for my prostate problems I have always been fairly lucky and have avoided most of the irritating minor side affects ( I said ’minor‘) but this time….. Well…boy…. have they caught up with me. All over my body but, the main area being from my scrotum to my toes. Itching and I mean itching!! It is not continuous but comes in spasms and to such a degree that I was creating small sore spots, drawing blood and forming small scabs…. Yuk! Some of the proprietary brands, available from chemists, gave some relief but I have developed a dislike of spreading chemicals all over my body. So it was a question of ‘grin and bear it‘. Stop scratching and shut up. And then just a few days ago ’Love of my Life’ presented me with two small bottles with the instructions to smear my whole torso with oil from the smaller bottle then hop in the shower and wash it all off with the liquid from the larger bottle. Well! I have done some weird things in my life but anything for a quiet life. So that evening just before washing the day off, I smeared - yes smeared that’s all I did - the oil from the smaller bottle over those bits that itched the most and then stepped into the shower and thoroughly washed myself with the liquid from the larger bottle which foamed up nicely. Taking into consideration the filter that I had recently attached to the shower head that softens the water as well as removing 100% of the harmful chlorine and makes the water feel so silky, it is no wonder I spent a little more time in the shower than I usually do thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. I hopped into bed, had a marvellous nights sleep and it wasn’t until half way through the following day that I realised I hadn’t scratched myself at any time. So what do you think of that? Marvellous!!! I looked at the bottles… all natural Essential Pre Bath & Shower Oil and all natural Cleansing Body Gel by The Sensitive Skin Co…… Hallelujah! What a find that was. Ken Robson
Phillips Juicer and Juicemaster book by Jason Vale I have had a juicer for several years, a friend recommended one to me. It was small, compact and very very difficult to clean. So, I used it a few times and loved what came out of the spout, but then the huge price to pay for a deliciously healthy drink was standing at the sink poking and prodding squidgy bits of darkened fruit from nooks and crannies! So, that juicer was relegated to the back of the cupboard. BUT things changed. I was so lucky to win a fabulous Phillips Juicer with a signed Juice Master Book by Jason Vale. What a great machine, easy to use and a doddle to clean. No fiddly bits that are difficult to get at, each piece is sturdy and with lovely clean lines. So the first hurdle of cleaning is overcome, as yet I haven't put it in a dishwasher because ours is not plumbed in at moment (recent house move). Juicing feels so healthy, to whizz a medley of fruits through the machine and then enjoy the drink in moments feels very luxurious, even decadent!! The variety of juices is only limited by your imagination. The resultant drinks will obviously vary considerably, but I am enjoying experimenting with different ratios of fruit. If you want to have a juice for a particular problem then Jason's Book is a must. There are suggestions for cellulite elimination, memory aid, detox, bright eyes and sexy juice! I cannot, as yet, comment on how successful these remedies are, all I can say is that the juices are, mainly delicious. The book is very comprehensive, giving you details of vitamin and mineral contents and the benefits of each drink. The only small thing that I disagree with Jason about is that he suggests that just about every drink is served over ice cubes, I prefer the juice at room temperature, I think that enhances the flavour. We are lucky enough to have a couple of apple trees in our garden, however, the apples produced though very sweet are very small, only a few good bites. But the juice that they have produced is so delicious. Once through the juicer the pulp left is really dry, very efficient juice removal. The fruits go in whole, no chopping involved, another time saver. My thanks to Janey Lee Grace's site that ran the competition, I am delighted with my new juicer. I feel so good about drinking so many delicious healthy juices, they do not have to all be fruit, various vegetables can be used as well, spinach, celery, watercress and beetroot. I foresee that my Phillips Juicer will forever be very visible in the kitchen and not condemned to a life in the back of the cupboard. Stephanie Lowe
The Rinse Aid Cup I was a VERY lucky winner of one of the Rinse Aid Cups recently on your FANTASTIC website. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you........ I now have a little Archie (pictured left) who is more than happy to have his hair washed - after almost 3 years of pure hell at bath time! Even when he was a newborn baby, Archie hated having his hair washed, and it has become more and more of issue as he is getting older. However, the Cup arrived, and we played with it in the bath for a little bit, and then took the plunge, so to speak. He wasn't thrilled at first - but there were NO tears or tantrums, which was an enormous leap in the right direction. He has since become more and more - I won't say keen - calm about having his hair washed. I'm attaching a photo of the happy little chap for you to see. From a very contented little Archie and a VERY, VERY happy Mummy Health Kinesiology by Liz Pirrie I was delighted to win a competition for a session of Health Kinesiology. My husband and the rest of my family were really surprised too. I had been pretty sceptical about my sister’s enthusiasm for kinesiology when she had tried it a few years ago, so I think everyone was surprised that I had even bothered to enter the competition. As I pointed out though, I had tried plenty things to try and cure my depression, including medication and cognitive behavioural therapy, so why not kinesiology. It had certainly done wonders for my sister. She was cured of her fear of butterflies and also of rheumatic pain in her legs. At the time I was pretty sure it was just mind over matter, but then, where’s the harm in that? I instantly liked the kinesiologist, Debbie, and she put me at ease straight away. She started by taking a brief history and explained a bit more about kinesiology. She then asked me to lie down on the couch, relax and hold my right arm upright, resting my elbow on the couch. First, she asked my body’s permission to work on me. With each question she applied a gentle pressure to my wrist. Sometimes, my arm did not move, and sometimes it ‘fell’ over. This answered her questions! Bizarre! After a few questions, I couldn’t help myself and I asked her, in the nicest possible way, how I could know that she wasn’t just pushing harder sometimes. She was very patient and understanding with my questions, she fully understood why I would be sceptical. She couldn’t really explain to me exactly how it worked, but I am certain that she was not cheating. Every movement in my arm was voluntary and not controlled by Debbie or myself. She started by finding out what she needed to “do” to me to make a difference in one session. I tried to relax and ignore her so that I wouldn’t try and answer the questions myself. After a number of questions and falling arms she said that she had been told four things that she needed to do. The first thing involved magnets. According to Debbie, she has to do this for most clients and although kinesiologists have traditionally connected it with teeth problems, she thinks it is more to do with mobile phone and MP3 player use. I tend to agree, I have two mobile phones and a blackberry and spend a fair bit of time listening to my MP3 player. The process involved placing a magnet on my throat, one on each cheek and one on the top of my head. I had to hold the two on my cheeks for her. I asked her if I was allowed to feel a bit ridiculous at this stage, thankfully she said yes! The next thing had four parts to it and would involve me imagining feeling things. This bit really spooked me! Read on… Firstly, she asked me to imagine feeling completely exhausted. Any Mother of a toddler will tell you that is not difficult to imagine and it’s also a symptom of my depression. I have much less energy than I used to. I lay and imagined, while Debbie put pressure on various muscles and muttered things under her breath. Secondly, I had to imagine how I felt when I really forgave someone. At the start, Debbie had asked me if I had any troublesome relationships. I said no, but in the back of my mind I did have one particular person in mind that I have always had problems with and that relationship could certainly do with a bucketful of forgiveness. But I did not tell Debbie about it, so how come, an hour later, she had me lying on a couch thinking about forgiveness!?! Thirdly, I had to imagine how it felt when I really related to someone. I’ve been lucky enough to be blessed with many good friends, but I still often feel like I’m on the outside. Especially with my work colleagues. My promotion to Director at the start of the year seems to have left me out on the cold with the girls in the office to an extent, but because the other Directors are men, I’m not quite “one of them” either. This is not something Debbie and I had discussed either, so it was interesting that this had come up! The final one was to imagine how I felt when I really had faith in myself. I certainly have lost a lot of confidence over the past few years. I often think I’ll fail, before I even try something, I imagine myself having failed at it. It was difficult to imagine having faith in myself, but I dug deep and Debbie did her stuff. Finally, she asked my body if there was anything I had to do myself. She asked if it was at work, or at home etc. After a lot of questions, it turned out that I needed to take some mineral supplements. The advice was really precise. I had to take selenium and zinc three times a day for four weeks and then one a day for two weeks. I also had to take magnesium, one a day for two weeks. I’m not sure what the zinc and selenium do, but I had been reading an article about magnesium in a cycling magazine a few weeks ago and had wondered if I was showing some symptoms of a deficiency. Interesting! My body told Debbie that I would not feel the real results for two days and that I would not need more kinesiology for three months. So, how do I feel now? Great! The appointment was on Thursday and when I woke up on Sunday morning I felt great. Instead of thinking “oh no, I don’t want to get up” I was happy to get going at just the pace my wee boy wanted me to. It felt a little strange, I used to be a morning person, but it was so long ago, I’d forgotten what it felt like. I’m writing this six days after my appointment and I still feel great. I have a new zest for life, I was in the office at seven o’clock this morning. I ordered the minerals online to make sure I got good quality ones, so they only arrived today. If they help too, then there will be no stopping me by the end of the month! I am definitely a convert and I will certainly go back in three months time to see if there is anything more she can do for me. This worked so well for me, partly I think, because I didn’t have to say too much. I’m not very good at opening up to people, but with Kinesiology I didn’t have to, my muscles did the talking. Ask me again how I feel in a couple of month’s time, but I really do think it’s made a difference and I have turned a corner. Thank you Janey

Why I joined Curves I first heard about Curves on the radio and that there were two places locally to me. When Jackie came to my place of work, and told us about the new one she was opening in Hatfield Town Centre, I thought, this is it. I was so pleased. I had been going to Weight Watchers for a while and had lost quite a bit of weight and I needed a way to tone up. My work colleagues said that they would join with me for moral support and now we’ve got quite a following, all going along before or after work, and encouraging each other to carry on. Jackie and the girls at Hatfield Curves are so nice and they give us lots of encouragement to succeed. I didn’t think that exercise could be so much fun and so convenient. Working shifts isn’t easy, but as its just half an hour a day and it fits in just right with my routine. So, if you’re thinking about joining - DO IT, and it does just what it says on the tin, NO MIRRORS, NO MEN and NO LYCRA. Just girls getting fit and having fun. Thank you Jackie and thank you Curves.
Della lost 7 inches within the first month I woke up one morning and got on the scales thinking I’ve had enough of putting on weight and getting bigger. I started to hate clothes and, looking in the shop mirrors, I hated myself. Then I discovered Curves three half hour sessions, three times a week. Great I thought, but does it work? Curves is very different from other gyms; it is for women only and, no matter what shape or size you are, you do get fantastic results. I lost 5 ½ lb and 11 inches in the first month of joining curves. I wouldn’t look back now. I feel fitter and happier in myself, I would recommend this type of workout to anyone. It’s very friendly and encouraging and I’ve seen great results for myself. I couldn’t be happier now thanks to Curves.
Manuka Honey "I'm going to put some honey on your nose." Now that’s not the daftest thing I've heard my wife say, but it comes pretty close. "What!" I cried. Well I had just returned home with a large white bandage over my face covering, would you believe, 28 - yes - 28 stitches on my not very big hooter. The result of a minor operation to remove a small spot of Basal Carcinnoma - skin cancer to you - very common and no big problem. In order to cover the hole they had cut out, they dragged the skin on my nose over the aperture, convincing me that after a few months you wouldn't notice a thing. Mmmm.... Which is where the honey comes in. You see the honey she is talking about is rather special. It's called Manuka Honey and Manuka Honey Cream and it comes all the way from New Zealand. In fact, a special place in New Zealand which is totally pollution free and where the Manuka bush has thrived since time immemorial and which the locals have been using for centuries to cure all types of maladies and now - it was on my nose! Within a a week, after a couple of dabs each day, honey in the morning, honey cream at night, I was back in the hospital and, to much acclaim as to how well it had healed, they took out - earlier than expected - all 28 stitches. Within days I was able to wipe it, blow it, pick it, twitch it and even sneeze quite comfortably and wife says she can't notice a thing. Marvellous! Now I wouldn't want to "sweet talk" you into anything but I'll tell you this, the honey is bloody good on toast as well! To read more - visit the Manuka honey website Ken Robson
Cranial Osteopathy When my son was born 2 ½ years ago after a very traumatic birth where I was “pushing” for 7 hours followed by a forceps delivery, he arrived with his whole head purple from bruising where he had got stuck! Being my first I had no idea what to expect but I did realise he was very hard work right from the beginning. I could not put him down without him screaming – even while still in hospital I remember asking a midwife what to do so I could go to the loo! This continued to the point where I couldn’t do ANYTHING! I had to get my neighbour round to hold him just so I could wash up without listening to him crying. When he reached about 16 months old and was walking, his behaviour became a nightmare especially as I was by this time pregnant with my second son. His whole life was a tantrum. I know it is expected at this age but Jordy would kick and scream like a wild animal around 20 times a day. He had a permanent frown too. I also started to notice his development was lagging behind as he did not start to talk when his peers did. Life was such incredibly hard work especially as he woke several times a night too. I had very little sleep, was pregnant and was trying to deal with a child who, whilst was very loving, was also very aggressive and very demanding. Then I heard about cranial osteopathy. Having contacted Steven Price he reassured me he was sure he could help and whilst I was a little sceptical I decided anything was worth a try. The first visit stunned me. Jordy, who up until that point, would not even look at strangers let alone let them go near him, let Steven lay his hand on his head to treat him. Also Jordy would never sit still, yet he sat on the floor perfectly calm for 40 mins! I felt like I was on a parallel universe as it was so alien. Anyway Steven told me that although he would get worse before he got better his behaviour would slowly improve along with his balance, creative play and many other things. After a couple of bad days things did start to improve. We had 6 treatments in total over 12 weeks and I can’t tell you how much our lives have changed. Jordy is so much calmer to the degree that everyone comments on it! His face looks totally different as the frown has gone. Although he still has his moments (he is 2 after all) he is a different child who can be reasoned with. He has started to play with toys and is very sociable with everyone. His understanding has come on leaps and bounds and to my delight he has even started to say a few words. He is so much happier and of course so am I. There is still a possibility that he has an underlying disability but Steven thinks it is unlikely and anyway even if he has, at least he enjoys life now. I just wish someone had told me about cranial osteopathy when he was a few weeks old which is the optimum time to treat for a traumatic birth apparently. It would have saved me and Jordy from a very, very hard 2 years. I would recommend this to anyone! About a year ago I took part in an Enjo demonstration and I was hooked by the ease of use, no chemicals and no packaging. I also have the telescopic pole and floor cleaner plate with two cloths, the “floor fibre strong” to get off all the ground-in dirt first, then dry off with the “floor fibre soft”; I use both of these on my kitchen and bathroom tiled floors. The soft cloth is also great for dusting all the wood floors. The telescopic pole is great for me as I’m almost 6ft so can never find the right cleaning tools that sympathetically allow me to do the jobs, but being telescopic means that I can put the handle at exactly the right height for me (floor to nose), so no need to stoop. Out of interest I’ve just measured the smallest setting, floor to handle top: 3ft 7” (or 1m 10), so even my children (currently 8 and 5) can do their bit and use it easily. Then my piece de resistance is bathroom cleaning with the bathroom glove and the ENJOfil cloth. Fantastic results every time: squeaky clean surfaces including the mirror and shiny taps. Once you’ve finished using them on all surfaces for that day they can be easily washed through with your towel wash, air dried and they’re ready for use almost immediately. Each item isn’t cheap but I’m of the thinking that you pay your money and take your choice. The combined cost of the above products was over £100 but I haven’t bought anything else for one year already and who knows how many more years these products will continue working for me! Love and light from one satisfied Enjo user; go on, give them a try, I’ll be amazed if you aren’t impressed too … Viv in Cornwall
Diary of a Cherry Active Virgin A friend of mine introduced me to CherryActive. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and she thought I might want to 'give it a go'. I was finally diagnosed two years ago, after several years in the 'aching wilderness'. The thing with 'Fibro' is that it is a complex illness that is difficult to diagnose and even harder to treat. Once armed with a name to 'Google' I set out on my quest for information. I soon came to realise that conventional medicine was not for me...my experience of NHS doctors and specialists left me cold. Their answer was to prescribe painkillers. Everything from Ibuprofen to ...well ..a drug that would sedate an entire heard of cattle. Not my idea of fun...driving down the road feeling like I'm sat on the roof of the car! The internet has been great for research. I now have a greater understanding of all things 'Fibro' and made some friends along the way. I went to the CherryActive website and after reading about the Montmorency Cherry and all the benefits I ordered two months' supply. Once my cherry juice arrived I couldn't wait to try it! I opened the bottle and had a good sniff....It smelt delicious! I asked my husband to smell it to see what he thought. After a pause....he said 'Smells like Golden Virginia tobacco to me!' I might just add that although he used to be a smoker he hasn't touched a 'roll up' for at least twelve years that I know of! I always thought that once off the 'demon fags' people regain there sense of taste and smell....maybe I was wrong!! Still with thoughts of tobacco on my mind, I made my first glass of juice up. It has to be diluted as it is very thick. To think that this is pure juice with nothing added is great for me. I try, as best I can, to avoid additives. The less rubbish I ingest, the better!! My first sip.... really nice! Not sickly sweet, naturally sweet! I could get used to this!! I make CherryActive my first drink of the day, before breakfast. It makes a pleasant early morning drink. I normally take it with cold water but I have also made it up with water from the kettle, left to cool a little. It makes a change from herbal teas. The first couple of weeks went by uneventfully. By the third week I am sleeping better. The pain in my arms seems less... is it too soon to say? By the end of the first month, I continue to sleep well. This is big news for me. Poor sleep patterns are a curse of 'Fibro'. I know that if I can have a good few hours sleep I can cope much better the following day. If I sleep. I ache less.... I finished my first bottle...and then for reasons unknown to me I forgot to open my second bottle (at the back of the fridge!) Had 'stuff' going on, hectic life, whatever. The routine was broken. How did I notice, what changed? After three days without my cherry juice I had the worst night's sleep EVER!!! The change was scary. After feeling pretty good for a while I dropped into a 'flare up'. One night of no sleep resulted in 'a migraine of the body'. I felt lousy. Needless to say, I have started drinking my juice again..... Lesley
Ellas Kitchen Hand Blender & Smothie Pouches I was delighted to win the Ellas Kitchen prize in the website competition. I found that the hand blender is very easy to use. Each piece simply clicks on and it is ready to go. Once you are finished, the piece clicks off and is ready to be cleaned. No fuss. You just rinse it under hot water and that's it. The included smoothie packs gave me a little freedom to experiment. To make the smoothies I just put the smoothie mix in the metal beaker and added some yogurt and a bit of orange juice. After a taste test, I added a little more of the yogurt or the juice to get just the right flavor. Unlike a bulky blender, the metal beaker was easy to clean and is able to hold large portions. I am extremely happy with this wonderful kit! Hilary Sephton

Meeting Carole for the first time was a wonderful experience and I felt like I had met a friend and indeed she has become someone I would like to stay in touch with and feel that I can do that. From the first moment Carole has been genuine, warm, kind and understanding, I felt at ease speaking with her and working on areas that I needed to see improvements in.
Like most women, I have always dreaded that time of month i.e. my period. Unlike a lot of women, it wasn't the pain that caused me the most problems, although it was disabling at times. PMS or PMT was never an issue for me, either. Even my very first period was a difficult time as I didn't know what was going on and my mother seemed reluctant to explain it to me.
So, when I spotted Mooncup for sale in my local chemist, I was ecstatic. Could this mean an end to all my problems? Would this product be the one thing that would delay my decision to have a total hysterectomy? Yes, it had come to that. A decision not to be made lightly for any woman and a decision my GP was reluctant to give me the permission I needed to carry it through. But, I needed a solution and Mooncup appeared to be it.
I loved how it was packaged, its design and how it was such an affordable price; a price that would be recouped many times over. My experience with the Mooncup, right from the start, has been one of ease and joy. Even though my first use of the product was whilst I was on a day out with my fiancé and miles from a good toilet, I still didn't have any major problems with using or insertion. Granted, I inserted the Mooncup far too high (it sits lower than a tampon) but even so, it was easy to use, remove and clean. At a later date, I purchased some sterilizing tablets in order to keep the Mooncup completely germ free.
