They have an amazing range of other skincare products too, including the dechloriantion ball or shower filter, again perfect for sensitive dehydrated skins: £9.00 Luscious locks Green People are one of my favourite companies and I love so many of their products, here as a taster is a small size of their excellent chemical free Shampoo and separate Conditioner. Buy their whole range of products including wonderful sun creams and even fake tan from health shops and their online store: £6.00 (£3 each) Clean up For when you’re on the move and there’s no way you’re gonna get to cleanse, moisturise and tone! These Faith in Nature Facial Wipes (£2.79) are perfect and amazingly good value, with none of the scary ingredients found in most ‘wipe’ products . Check out Faith in Nature’s excellent deodorants and shampoos too. Please note some packs include Faith in Nature shampoo (£3.79) Natural make-up Unfortunately the average makeup bag contains a hair raising number of potentially toxic chemicals but for those of us who still want to slap on the slap, the great news is there are some great alternatives. Mineral makeup is wonderful and you don’t have to compromise on great colours even for eyes and lips. Anne Marie Borlind is known as the ‘Estee Lauder’ of the natural skincare world and along with a fantastic skincare range they’ve now produced some gorgeous natural make-up. Natural Deodorant Its common knowledge now that conventional deodorants are a very bad idea and oncologists in breast cancer units are advising women against them. Aside from the effects on the environment most deodorants and anti-perspirants contain aluminium cholorohydrate, parabens, preservatives, artificial perfumes and more. Its so simple to switch to a natural one which will save you a fortune too! You can buy natural deodorants in the form of a spray or ‘stick’ but so easy to use is this excellent roll on from Pitrok, amazing value too, it should last around a year – not bad for £6 they’re sold in chemists and health stores or from Pitrok Bath time bliss When you need a bit of pampering at bath time or any other time really treat yourself to a really special candle. Regular cheap candles release some potentially toxic petrochemical ‘fumes’, so opt for a 100 per cent natural one from Indigo Essences, who also, by the way, make amazing spray essences for every emotion, and also the ‘I’m in heaven’ which lifts your spirits whenever you’re feeling a bit insecure. Candle (lavender): £9.34 Feminine Care Gals you know I’m dead against regular sanitary protection, if you have teenage girls get them started on the unbleached organic sanitary protection from the off. These are biodegradable and great value. You can buy Natracare wipes and tampons of course and Natracare Panty Liners: £1.99 Wash up! Forget regular soap, its really drying for the skin, this is the most gorgeous Body Wash from Weleda, one of my favourite natural companies who make a great range of skincare products. Here's one to start you off. Weleda Rose Body Wash: £6.95 Spritz around! Its well documented that regular air fresheners and perfumes can contribute to headaches, respiratory problems and worse. This gorgeous organic essential oil spray from Neals Yard remedies does the job of both. Zest Sprizter Seasonal snuffles If you’re prone to coughs and colds at any time of year, the last thing you’ll want to do is reach for prescription or even over the counter preparations. Most simply disguise the symptoms and usually have other side effects. Its far better to look at the holistic picture. Think about your diet and drink lots of water and build up your immunity with good quality echincacea and low acid Ester C vitamin C Viridian Cold Paks.
