THE SECOND BOOK IN THE IMPERFECTLY NATURAL SERIES...

This is for Mums with young kids and babies, Grandparents, Childminders and Carers. In fact anyone who wants to help give new generations the benefit of what we're all learning in our eco-alternative quest.  Imperfectly Natural Baby and Toddler is a collection of tried and tested tips for natural pregnancy, birth, parenting and caring for babies and young children.

If the closest you've ever come to natural parenting is buying your baby the reduced sugar variety of baked beans this book is for you, if your first child screamed and kicked through the first 2 years of their life, rejected the cot and the buggy and refused to take a bottle - maybe you want the next time to be different - this book is definitely for you. If you're a grandparent and things were quite frankly different in your day - this book should help you to be an effective carer

The important word in the title is 'Imperfect' because if we were perfect that wouldn't be natural, particularly when it comes to the messy business of birth and babies. None of us gets everything right and most of us find when we become parents we seem to inherit a new middle name - 'guilty' - but hopefully these tips will fast-track you to the best treatments, products and ideas to enhance your pregnancy and parenting experience.

Janey and LuluIf you're pregnant - congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of babies and children. Girls, this is the single most incredible thing you'll ever do in your life, Giving birth - especially if you can manage to do is gently and naturally is a truly miraculous and mind blowing experience., Good for you that you sought out these holistic tips in order to make your first experience a positive one. If you have toddlers I hope you'll pick up some great tips and ideas to make this experience If even more wonderful than before.

I hope to point you in the right direction of holistic but realistic living, babies and children don't come with a manual and it can be a steep learning curve but everything that is recommended in this book has been tried and tested by me throughout my four pregnancies or by one of my colleagues or friends who have been kind enough to share their own inspirational parenting tips.

What you won't find in this book is a step by step guide through the 'mechanics' of developmental stages, you also won't find any government statistics or recommendations on, centinile charts or health assessment progress reports, this book assumes that you as the mother know best, you have an incredible intuition when it comes to your children, this book will help you to trust that intuition and harness your own power to become as happy, healthy, and environmentally responsible as possible - albeit with a few imperfections along the way !!

As I said in my first book Imperfectly Natural Woman I won't go into too much in-depth technical information or analysis of the products or treatments I recommend, I figure that like me you're busy and will settle for whether or not something works and for- go the scientific knowledge but wherever possible I'll provide references and web addresses so that you can do your own further research.

You'll already be familiar with many of the recommendations in the book and you'll probably disagree vehemently with some of my tips and believe yours has the edge !! Great - email me and together we'll compile the definitive guide. I've already said when you become a parent you suddenly acquire 'guilt' about just about everything, well if at any point reading this book makes you feel guilty, maybe you didn't persevere with breastfeeding or you wished you'd weaned the baby later - let it go - move on to other sections that appeal to you, we're all a different stage in our journey and we're all imperfect. I hope you'll find this book useful and inspiring, if you take up some of these ideas you'll be living more simply, often saving money and you'll be doing your bit to raise the next generation of happy secure children who take responsibility for their environment and their own health.

REVIEWS

This is a letter I recieved on the books first day of release which really warmed my heart..........

Janey,...... It's so nice to read positive things about co-sleeping, long-term breastfeeding, and basically responding to the needs of the child, rather than doing what "experts" and everyone else that has an opinion tell us we should do. I spent the first year of my first daughter's life feeling guilty about having her in bed with me. At the six week check the health visitor told me that it was dangerous and although I knew deep down it was right for us I couldn't forget her words. We did try "controlled crying" at some point until she fell out her cot in her distress and I still feel guilty about it now. Needless to say it didn't work but now she is happily in her own bed and did so in her own time.

I then spent the next year defending the fact that I was "still" breastfeeding.... Anyway, I'm much more assertive with my new son and will do what suits us as a family. Thanks for a brilliant book - Imperfectly Natural Woman has been a favourite since my mum gave me a copy last year and I have been looking forward to this one ever since!
