Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Textile and Knitwear
Technology in 1987and being involved in the Clothing Industry; I had
never dreamt of being involved in the Health and Cancer Prevention.
In 1995, I became a stay home mum for three years to enjoy our
twin boys (born 5 weeks prematurely through a C-Section). They both had
severe refluxing problems, glue ears and eczema.
I made all their food from scratch, as the vegetarian baby food choice
was limited in those days…..Thank God because they eat almost anything
as long as it is vegetarian. We saw the Pediatrician, the Ear, Nose and
Throat Consultant or the Dermatologist almost every other week. I did
exactly as I was told and my sons had all the operations, tests,
x-rays, antibiotics and creams prescribed! Not anymore….we look down
the Alternative Route FIRST.
I returned to working in the Clothing Industry again in 1998,
until my uncle died in 1999 at the age of 53 after a heart attack. I
was really upset and a friend advised me to take a couple of years off
and enjoy my boys, so I took her advice. Unfortunately, I had severe
back aches which lead to sleep deprivation and was instructed by the
Consultant to have a steroid injection in my back and sleeping pills.
He advised me that if I didn’t do this I would end up with
depression…..but this time I refused and turned to Complementary.
After taking supplements, attending yoga classes and swimming. My pain
and sleep improved so I started to look at what I could do for my
family to make them healthy. A friend who was supplying me with the
supplements informed that the supplement company was having a
Convention. She asked me if I would be interested in going with her, to
learn more about their products as the Formulators were going to be
there. Well, I went along but I nearly fell off the chair when they
mentioned the chemicals in everyday personal care products, including
the baby products! No wonder my sons had skin problems! That’s nearly
seven years ago when there was hardly any mention about chemicals in
the media.
This is when I began to inform all the mothers that I knew and
I’m sure some thought I was a little OTT. I never sold any products
because I was taking time off. Then on the 12th May 2004, I pledged
that I would sell these products for one year and donate all the
profits to a Cancer Prevention Charity I support.
I was hoping that the mothers would take me more seriously and
protect their little ones! Some mothers began to take interest until
one day a mother pointed out that the products I was marketing had
“parabens in them” ……I believed in the company’s Mission about Cancer
Prevention and never thought that they would add parabens. I cried
after looking at the label because I couldn’t believe my eyes. The
Company grew bigger and added the parabens to preserve their personal
care products without telling anyone. Well that was my Mission out of
the window because how can I sell a range of products which I wouldn’t
use on my sons? After searching for “Paraben Free” personal care
products, I finally came across a fantastic range of Certified Organic
Products without any chemicals!
After feeling cheated, I started advising everyone to check each
ingredient on the label. It’s really simple just enter the ingredient
name in Google Search to view the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
As a mother, I am on a Cancer Prevention Mission and look at
everything that taxes our Immune System. This is because Our Immune
System is the Best Protection Against Illness. Here are some of the
things that compromise our Immunity to certain illnesses:
Antibiotics, X-rays, Chemotherapy, Vaccinations, Alcohol &
Cigarettes, Chemicals, Unnecessary Surgeries, Sugar & Fat, Vehicle
Fumes, Stress, Cosmetics and Radiation.
I first looked into Mobile Phone Radiation in 2002 because my
husband was suffering from headaches and hot ears when using his mobile
phone. He began by changing his mobile phone to find one that would
stop his symptoms. Unfortunately, in those days I didn’t use the
computer so I began by speaking with friends who were Complimentary
Health Practitioners and we tried out numerous products. He bought a
leather case with a device that was suppose to stop the radiation and
found that he couldn’t get the signal so he just wouldn’t use it. Then,
we bought products to stick on the outside of his mobile phone which
had the disadvantage of falling off so he lost them and he couldn’t
transfer them onto his new phone. Obviously by now it getting very
expensive and he was fed up of trying out everything I bought as he
said they didn’t help to eliminate his symptoms anyway.
Well, in February 2006, I was in Dubai exhibiting the
Certified Organic Products at the Wellbeing Fair where I met Friedrich
Bauer at the Press Conference. He came over and introduced himself….I
was obviously meant to meet him as there were so many people there.
When he told me what his company did I was impressed and said that I
would definitely visit his stand because I was looking for something to
protect us from phone masts and pylons. However, we were so busy on our
stand that I forgot about it but on the third day when he passing by
our stand he insisted that I just popped over for a few minutes. I am
so happy that I did because not only did I find a product to harmonize
the negative effects from the mobile masts and pylons but I found the
Green 8 foils which fit inside the mobile phones solving the problem of
children not wanting to be seen with something stuck on the outside
…..As it’s not cool!
I took up Friedrich’s offer to market his range of Radiation Protection
products because the Modern Technology has definitely created
indispensable tools for today's “Mobile” Society. Indisputably mobile
and cordless DECT phones as well as PCs and Laptops which are
frequently connected to various wireless communications applications
such as WLAN or “Bluetooth” are indispensable tools for all of us. We
are increasingly hearing people complaint of hot ears, headaches, eyes
problems, fatigue and even cancer. There are numerous research studies
suggesting that this technology may not be good for us and may be
damaging the health of our children who are under the age of 16 and
still developing? Not forgetting our health too as I truly believe that
“Your Life is in Your Hands.”
Finally, I know that I am destined to spread Awareness about
Cancer Prevention and Protecting the Immune System. I just wish that I
had access to the internet and I knew everything I know today because
my sons wouldn’t have had to go through what they went through. My
Mission is to Protect our Children and I know that there are many
mothers out there who feel the same. I have a tendency to stop pregnant
mothers and asking them to take a good look at chemicals they are
applying on their bodies and using in their houses. We can’t change
overnight but we certainly can take steps towards making those changes.
Isn’t strange how our whole outlook on life changes when we have children!
