It's Organic Food Month

Wednesday, September 28, 2011
October is organic food month and its a great opportunity to clean up your act.   Its the time of the year when most of fancy warming soups and hearty meals so you'll be pleased to know I'm not necessarily recommending that you try and go 100 per cent raw or eat only superfoods or salads.  What I would suggest is that you opt for lean organic protein and organic seasonal vegetables, use Coconut oil for cooking (well for everything actually including to moisturise your skin!) and add some nutritional seeds and wholegrains such as quinoa and millet.

For nutritious breakfast cereals don't forget good old organic porridge, the wondrous sugar free cereals from Rude Health and the excellent Granola from Midfields Granola which is sweetened with Sweet Freedom (an excellent sugar substitute).   As most of us are time stretched you'll really appreciate healthy 'fast food'  Check out the wonderful organic food mixes from Lifestyle Organic, I love the Quinoa and Spelt mixes and they do some yummy desserts too - Add water, within 4-10 mins a nutritious hearty meal with no chopping needed !

For snacking on the go keep it organic and raw, get in quick for some special offers on these great  raw crackers.
